The Franchise Begins

The first Captain Power series aired in syndication in 1987 and immediately claimed the hearts and minds of a new generation of young television fans.

“Slickly produced, well-written and loaded with enough real plots and real characters to

attract adult fantasy freaks.”

OTTAWA CITIZEN

“Two thumbs up! Captain Power is really well made…

in fact, there’s some real drama… watch the show!”

GENE SISKEL, SISKEL & EBERT

“The most ambitious series ever made for television.”

TORONTO STAR

“… inventive, sophisticated, and clever.”

SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE

“Captain Power swamps its competitors.”

PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER

“The filmmakers are onto something. It’s no accident that the first line of dialogue is

LET’S MAKE A LITTLE HISTORY TODAY.’

ARLINGTON JOURNAL

Airing in more than 200 domestic North American markets and 46 international territories,

the groundbreaking original series became one of the most innovative and influential

programs in television history.

And the story didn’t end there…

The Franchise Today

In December, 2011, the complete 22-episode first-season collection of the series was

released on DVD, including commentaries, production art, featurettes, and an all-new ninety-minute documentary about the making of Captain Power. The response was overwhelming!

“One of the best SF and superhero stories of the 1980s… Of all the

properties of the 1980s, Captain Power is perhaps one of the most

unappreciated, and most deserving of a revival… the premise is

surprisingly adaptable and relevant to the modern day.”

NEWSARAMA

“Captain Power proved an immeasurably intense series with

rich characters… There was also a shockingly mature story underneath…

It's one of those series that actually works, even as an adult.”

IGN

“A show such as Captain Power endured because of the acting and writing involved.

Here were characters that we could identify with and find compassion for.”

MANIA.COM

“… a mature storyline with powerful writing...”

THE RETROIST

“There’s some romance in here, a few good laughs, plenty of

good old-fashioned science-fiction action, and some unexpected stories

of betrayal besides… this could easily be a series of SyFy today.”

TRON

And the story still isn’t over…

Just released, the long-awaited

soundtrack album.

The complete 22-episode first season of the

ground-breaking series is now available on DVD.
